On the hardest difficulty, without any aim support, when player has to count for bullet drop and correct for bullet travel time and lateral speed of target... perfect. That's how sniper similator game should look like. The game is very unforgiving if player tries to assault without brain - one hit, one dead, like should be. Of course, there could be improvements to other stuff. For example it is quite unrealistic stealth system, but I can live with that. A bit strange though is that weapon accessories are at the price of weapons themselves, but I guess it is for playability balance.
Extremaly repetitive, but a good slasher. You walk and slash, you walk and slash, pick up stuff, upgrade, slash, slash, pick up, slash. Oh, right, once in a while you have to wait for someone to finish his/her dialogue, click, then walk more, slash more. Good debraining game, after tiresome day, to... slash something :). I don't know if this game could be designed better or worse, if think it serves a purpose. Oh, one important thing - there is no manual save - if you kill some boss in not perfect way, you won't get full reward - remember that - there is no turning back from it (other than start game from scratch). And due to how game is made, you can't die - you respawn... and walk more, and slash more...
This game has its shines and flaws, but the worst thing is that companions, which are essential part of the game, are terribly faggoty. How come, that playing as a man, though, hard, even brute, my companions no matter the gender, trying to flirt with me and have some "romantic relationship". It is awful, terrible, and completely broke my game experience. Good game is about immersion, and when I immerse into a game where some guy tries to approach me in improper way, I wish to punch him in the face, no talking some stupid punch lines, like I don't have balls to stand for myself. Terrrible, terrible game design from that perspective. It really hurts game experience for normal people. I wish I haven't played the game for so long till I realize that all the time, everywhere those companions are going to give such a shity dialogues - otherwise I would ask for a refund.
I rarely write reviews, but felt that I should in this case. To me, game was very entertaining, however, I would point 3 important flaws: 1* old, existing in DeusEx'es game mechanic that if you already have specific weapon (lets say, a pistol), that picking up that weapon picks up only ammo, and if you wish to dismantle it for parts (forgot name of that in game) you would have to manually throw away your current pistol, pick up new one, dismantle it, and then pick up your orginal one (usually already modded by yourself). Dismantling as well completely discard amount of specific stuff you dismantle (5 pieces of ammunition converts to 10 parts, the same as 200 pieces, converts as well to 10 parts). 2* In the middle of the game progress, player has so much everything (ammunition, consumables, hacking soft) that it is already pointless to pick up any new stuff, but wishing to encounter something new, still, its making the player to keep picking up. 3* Game is FAR TO EASY. I've played on "give me DeusEx" and I barely had any challenge. Never had to fear for being dead from a gunshot. The only cases of my death were when I slipped accidentially from balcony, trying to jump from one building to the other. Even during martial law, it was a piece of cake to kill off every single cop. Because I am fan of the series, I would give 1 star more, than I should, so, overall, 4 (of 5) stars given.
I do have quite decent computer with modern graphics card. I had to lower down every single graphics feature and even dumb down my screen resolution, and it was still lagging. I can play on medium to high settings in many FPP shooters, but this title is turn-based-strategy. It is ridiculous that it is so extremaly bad programmed, to be so much unoptimized. Game as a game is fine. Nothing too special, nothing too bad. It brings some joy. The only little thing I can complain about are not always meaningful descriptions and as a player I do have to guess what some of them means. I have played it for about 10 hours which means it is not bad. Usually I stop playing any new game after 2 to 4 hours as I am quickly bored by modern titles (of course with such exceptions like "The Witcher"/Wiedźmin or Stellaris).
