This game is divisive for several reasons: 1- It’s based on the Dungeons & Dragons system and universe, which is itself polarizing within the TTRPG community. 2- It features turn-based party strategy gameplay—not exactly the most mainstream genre. What’s exceptional: the sheer volume of dialogue and choices available, and the depth of companion development. What’s disappointing: despite the abundance of choices, their impact on the overall story remains fairly marginal—you’re still either the world’s savior or tyrant. The universe feels generic, lacking nuance, and often falls into cliché good vs. evil tropes. I enjoyed playing through it once to explore the world, but have no desire to revisit it. I preferred watching a few videos to see how the different endings played out.
This is the kind of game you absolutely don’t want spoiled. I hesitated for a long time before picking it up—the imagery made me uncomfortable, yet deeply intrigued at the same time. If you enjoy card games or puzzle mechanics, go for it without hesitation. Just know: you won’t be prepared for the experience that awaits. I found myself watching lore breakdowns and theory videos afterward—it’s that deep and fascinating.
This is one of those games that proves you shouldn’t always trust “professional” reviews. The gameplay isn’t groundbreaking and can be a bit repetitive, but everything it does, it does really well. Most importantly, the story and world are truly captivating. So if what you’ve seen has piqued your interest—don’t overthink it, just go for it.
This is the game that proves you shouldn’t always trust “professional” reviews. Even though I’m usually not drawn to zombie games, this one… is an excellent open-world experience! It reminded me of Mad Max: the gameplay isn’t groundbreaking and can be a bit repetitive, but everything it does, it does really well. Most importantly, the story and world are truly captivating. So if what you’ve seen has piqued your interest—don’t overthink it, just go for it. Especially on sale.
I loved the first installment. This second episode introduces some interesting gameplay changes, and while I enjoyed extending my time in this universe, it didn’t quite capture me the way the original did. That said, it’s still an excellent game and worth every cent. I simply recommend playing the first one before picking this up—and if you only plan to play one, go for the original.
An atmosphere, soundtrack, and visual design that stand out from the usual fare. Responsive gameplay and a gradual, rewarding progression of the character’s abilities. If you’re a fan of unique dark fantasy worlds, Soulslike mechanics, and Castlevania-inspired experiences, this game is sure to delight you.
It’s more of an interactive movie than a proper game. The story—despite some plot holes—and the dialogue are quite engaging, but the gameplay is minimal at best. It took me 6 hours to complete it 100% and see all the possible endings. Worth picking up at a deep discount (75% off) to play through once.
