This sequel is not the best game of the Atlantis serie, but definitely worth playing anyway. Interesting story, but kind of brutal ending, and similarly to Atlantis II, it feels a bit too farfetched: it's a mix of various tales and legends that don't seem to fit together. Still trying to figure out how some of them actually relate to Atlantis. But on the other side, it's always a pleasure to navigate through these marvelous, mind blowing, imaginary worlds. Puzzles are well designed, most of them are not too hard, but may take a while to solve. Had to check , I admit, the game solution (but only once!) when getting stuck at the end of the Egypt world. Generally speaking, the game, graphics and artistic direction feel less polished than the first two opuses, although it shines here and there, it's uneven. As some other review say, the magic/spiritual feeling is less present. Faced a few compatibility issues with it: - Subtitles not displaying properly when enabled, and invisible characters when subtitles are enabled - Beetle box invisible - Slight choppy motion when rotating the camera

Atlantis 2 plays better than Atlantis 1 (GOG version): no display glitches, dual screen supported. The amount of work put into this game back at that time is incredible: + Great graphics + Well developed story + Interesting puzzles However: - The difficulty level is set way too high. Way higher than Atlantis 1 and this will fairly repel many players. - The story is way too farfetched, ambiguous. Hard to understand unless reading the Wikipedia page. Atlantis 1 story was far more compelling, clear and understandable in that regard. - Voices don't really match characters (even in original french version)

Ok first of all Windows 10 is not in the compatibility list of this game, only XP, Vista and 7. But, I would assume many issues are not directly related to Win10 and also happens with earlier versions. Tested with two modern computers with Win 10 (desktop and laptop), both had performance issues such as lagging videos when navigating through Atlantis, characters display bugs, animations playing too fast, no dual screen support leading to disconnect one screen each time to be able to play the game... Some patches can be found online such as "AtlantisExtendedCut", but they have other issues sadly. I ended up installing the original disks that work better that this GOG version shamelessly. I know supporting, maintaining old games is hard because of compatibility breakages, but when it doesn't work, it must be reported. I really appreciate the GOG platform anyway, you guys resurrected some nice games from the past, so thank you. Hope these issues can be fixed!
