Mafia: Definitive Edition

A Carnival Ride

+ Great visuals and character models, also the acting is better than most games out there - Stiff controls, emptiness and lack of creativity I gotta say: it's a great looking game. Loved the feel of the city, the animations and how the characters were 'alive'. I felt that Hangar 13 did everything they had in hands to portray the 30's with accuracy. But in the end, it felt just like L.A. Noire to me - great story, but now what? I had a whole city with virtually nothing to do besides collecting cars (with maybe five or six actually interesting ones) and a few side missions to spend a few hours in. Also, I could feel the rush in development when I realized the side missions were divided by two structures: you either race against the clock, or you go into [place] and shoot everyone while collecting comics on the side. By the way I hated the alien mission, but that's mostly a skill issue combined with the stiffness of driving Crazy Horse without having to go from 60-0 just to make a turn. This game is the definition of a carnival ride: can be really fun - but once you're done, you'll hardly wanna go back to it.
