The Curse of Monkey Island™

My favourite of the series!

This is easily one of my favorite adventure games. Having gotten the physical release of the first three entries in the series when I was a kid, I can't remember how many times I've beaten this game. While this version of the game is running absolutely fine, it's disappointing to see that it only includes the English version. Usually, I'm totally fine with English only, but as someone who grew up with the German version, there is just a lot of the atmosphere and feeling of nostalgia missing that I would've wished this release included. This is why I heavyheartedly have to redact one star. Should additional languages be added, I will happily change my review.

Day of the Tentacle Remastered

Amazing! Those timing issues though...

DOTT was one of the first games I had on my brand-new Desktop Computer in the late 90s. It is non-arguably a masterpiece of Lucas Arts' corky Point and Click adventures of the time and Double Fine did a great job remastering it with the original concept art. What turned out as kind of a buzzkill was the fact that after a few hours of my playthrough, the subtitles had trouble catching up with the voice acting, killing the timing of countless jokes and making several scenes extremely tedious. Using the skipping function to solve the issue manually sometimes resulted in skipping the upcoming line, resulting in inexplicable jumps in dialogue, or didn't work at all. If these issues are fixed with another patch, there is no way this remaster doesn't deverve 5 stars, for now it's gonna have to be 4!
