Quest for Glory 1-5

Erana is Finally at Peace

I still have my original disc for Quest for Glory Anthology. Of all of the Sierra point and click adventure games, Quest for Glory (The 256 Color Remake) has to be my favorite. Playing this game is like walking through a series of ornate and subtlety detailed oil paintings. To see that GOG is finally carrying this series is a victory for classic gamers everywhere. If you truly want to be a hero, play these games. There are three classes to choose from, nice RPG style progression, awesome cameos, a fun battle system and a truly epic soundtrack that will be playing in your head long after you have beaten these games.

Icewind Dale Complete

Icewind Dale does Baldurs Gate Better

Back in 1998, I bought Baldurs Gate and I still own the original discs. I always wanted to get Icewind Dale but for watever reason, I never picked it up back in the day. Low and behold, GOG bought all of the Baldurs Gate engine games back from the dead and I am so glad they did. Icewind Dale is bascialy like Baldurs Gate but the game play is more refined. It scrolls a lot smoother than BG did. Also, for being a game released at the beginning of the millennium, I have to say that this title has withstood the test of time. The storyline is rich with plenty of different choices to make during conversations. Graphically, this game is incredible. I never get tired of seeing the artwork. The battle system is enjoyable and really makes you think during combat. Between this, BG, BGII, Icewind Dale II and Planescape Torment, I can see that I am going to be busy for quite some time. For those of you playing any PC Baldurs Gate title for the first time, just know that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect and Dragon Age Origins would have never been possible if it wasn't for all of these early gems from Biowares PC days. All I can say is Icewind Dale rocks! Since I didn't buy this back in the day, getting this now just makes it feel that much more refreshing. After playing Baldurs Gate, its new and familiar at the same time. Get this now :-)
