Dungeon Siege had his problems but still is a great game. Dungeon siege 2 is really good too. Dungeon Siege 3 is not a good DS, but a good "diablo lik"e game. Whats the problem then? Squarenix keep releasing the trilogy without the expansions (Except for the DLC for 3). You dont lose a lot of things in the DS1 Expansion, but you can`t use some of the incredilbe mods out there (Like Ultima 5 and 6 remakes) without it. The problem is with Dungeon Siege 2. The game ends in a cliffhanger. The the real ending is in the expansion (Like Diablo 2). Without it, you dont have the complete story (Even if tis not a amazing one, its awfull not begin able to kill the final boss). So, buy them knowing that. You cant use mods in DS1 and you dont have the complete story in DS2.
The best way to describe Mars War Logs is: Imagine a Sci Fi Original Videogame. Cheasy dialogue, sometimes good action, wierd characters, somatimes really bad voice acting, cringy desitions (Like the names of the characters in one of the factions), and a really interesting universe. The story is nothing special and cliche, dialogues sometimes are bad, soometimes are funny bad. The combat is OK, but unbalance (With selecting only a couple of skills, you can be the invencible half trough the game). But the universe Spiders made for the game, is really interesting and original (Sadly you can see only a little of it in Mars, but explore it much more in Technomancer). If you play Mars War Logs thinking you are going to play a Sci Fi Original Movie Game (But with a good world) and knowing you are going to laught at dialogue and some moments, you are going to really enjoy the game. Mars its a cheasy, sometimes good sometimes bad experience. Just dont play it thinking is a big AAA "michel Bay style" RPG.
Throne of Darkness is one of the most original Diablo clones out there. You fught every japanesse legend with seven different characters with 4 at the same time (3 controlled by the AI). Is like Play Diablo 2 but with every character at the same time. But, thats the problem too. The micromanagment of 7 characters with weapons, armors and skillpoints is tiring and slow. The AI is good but The Formations don´t do anything and some characters are too week to let the AI control them. Every character level up at the same time, but if you go with characters Which you have not used for a long time, you gonna lose A LOT of time spending skill points (Like Diablo, Streght, Magic, Endurance, Agility and Special abilities) and trying to find new or better weapon and armors for them- or play micromanaging every seven characters at the same time... But i think is the worst problem is the sound feedback when you fight enemies. In every ARPG you feel when you hit the enbemie and that make you feel good and kn´w you´re hitting them. In Throne of Darkness you only hear the sword cutting the air. So you never known or feel if you hit a enemie. Good everyoments, good music, good enemy dising. Is from some of the makers of Diablo 1 so you know what expect. At that price, it´s super recommended!
Alone in the Dark was the first Survival Horro in 3D with static cameras. Resident Evil toke inspiration from AITD. Then, Infogrames make another Aloe in the Dark, COPYING ABSOLUTLY EVERYTHYNG from Resident Evil. And i`m not kiding: Same controls, samefiring system, the same inventory with THE SAME BUTTONS! Even a FILES section with the documents you found. And don`t forget the same "is a Valve. Turn it on? YES - NO" and of course, Two characters with almost two diferent games, The game is not bad. Is "Ok". But, come on, man! You create the "Survival Horror in 3D in a house"!! And now you need to COPY yuor copy? As a fan, is almost painful....
... like one of the creators said some time ago. Awesome game, good weapons, good design, good enviroment interaction.... One of the Best FPS ever... and nobody buy it.
You NEED to play this game! It`s the worst pc game in history. Only for that you must play it. Ir`s like the Ed Wood movies, you see it to understand how NOT to make a movie (And for a big laught). The same thing here: Bad Levels, Bad weapons, bad enemies (The Freaking forst level it`s a swamp full of deadly little toads and robotic mosquitos!!), bad AI, bad (OH MY GOD.... BAAAAADDDD) sidekicks, bad RPG elements... You need to play it, is so bad it`s good. And, of course, read all the whole story behind it, after that its even more funny play Daikatana. It` the best worst PC game!!!
