Amazing art direction, night city is an absolute joy to travel through and the cyberpunk aesthetics to the characters are really well done. The plot was a bit tough to follow, but perhaps thats because I took tangents on side missions and such as we all do on these types of games. But it was fun to play through all the same Overall it was exactly what I wanted it to be. An amazing cyberpunk visual world with a fun story to play through.
Having never played the original version beyond the first mission (the driving was too bad to continue one) I come to this one with a clean slate in terms of 99% of it. And its a very fun game. The story is engaging and emotionally investing, the graphics are amazing, the voice acting and script is excellent.
Man the controls of the editing bay at the nightly news. A bit of a peak behind the scenes of a real production, includes lots of fun bits and fake commericials and even a few musical numbers Keep the camera on the action though or else viewers will tune out! Oh... And do you want to air the stuff the government wants you to see, or do you let the rag tag group of resistance fighters get their clips on the air?
Combining many good elements of todays crop of visual novels with the movement and exploration of adventure games from yesteryear, Oxenfree has an interesting story to tell and is a fun little ride for the 5 hours or so it takes to beat. Set your expectations correctly and you will be pleasantly rewarded.
