I've played this game on non-retina Macs and it's run fine. It's good game. But if you have a newer Mac, with a high resolution, DO NOT BUY. It simply won't launch. I've searched for options to figure out how to change the launch resolution, requested tech support from GoG, all to no avail. Would love if I could get it work, but there's no support and no hope. Don't understand why they're even still selling it.
