I like this game better than Skyrim. Game narrative is great, a strong follow up from Gothic 1, so having played through Gothic 1 at least once enhences Gothic 2 experience for sure. The combat can appear to be very janky at first, but once you become familiar with it, it really is dark souls before there was dark souls. The most impressive feature is the fact there is no loading screen at all, most if not all buildings have fully modelled interior and you can just explore anywhere seemlessly if NPC doesn't stop you. The game world is handcrafted, it's beautiful and intricate, and not having quest markers to tell you where to go makes you learn and remember every little bit of the map. This game is old, more than 20 years, so running on modern PCs is not trouble free. Of course you can install various mods to address issues, but I had my playthrough with vanilla game without any game breaking bug. The only mod I used was GD3D11 which makes the game so much prettier. Overall I would say this game is not for everyone. If you can get through the jank and the age of this game, then you will have one of the best RPG gaming experience.

Coming from Star Wars Dark Forces 1, this game offers both more quantity and quality. It even has live action cutscenes. I finished it using openjkdf2 which is like an engine remake, it works pretty well mostly, encountered little issues, nothing game breaking. This game is quite challenging and also entertaining, like Dark Forces 1 most weapons are not hitscan and the projectile speed is quite slow which means player can actually dodge bullets, with inclusion of light saber there is a chance incoming fire can be deflected back to the enemy just like in the movies. My issues with this game is the boss fights could be better, and last couple of chapters became a little too easy due to force powers like the totally OP force "Protection" which nagates most damages for a very reasonable amount of time. Overall this game is totally worth the money.

I played through this game using the force engine which is an open source reimplementation of the original game engine, it works great. This game is a classic, definitely needs to be experienced by Star Wars fans. Even if you are not a Star Wars fan, this is still a very good first person shooting game.

This is the one of the best FPS game I have played. It offers so much thrill for more than 30 hours. It's totally worth the full price, however it does go on sale from time to time. I only hope there could be a remaster, or maybe even a remake, this game really needs some more love.

A great CRPG, a must play for fans of the genre or just anyone who enjoys a good tale. It has great and immersive story telling, quirky characters, and comprehensive gameplay mechanics. But it's not without flaws, for example you cannot swap inventory items between team members during a mission, and the game has some minor bugs that isn't game breaking but can get annoying. Also you are always at the mercy of the RNG god and sometimes the god can be very cruel, make you miss shot after shot. There is also an editor and user created content. Overall this game's strength far surpasses its weaknesses, worth a playthrough.

This game's graphics is really beautiful, sadly it's also very buggy. I thought I could just toughen up and live with those buggy, but in the end it's simply impossible. What really killed this game for me was the enemy AI ships, sometimes they just sit there and not moving at all. At this point you may say just install one of the super mods and be happy. I have tried all of the super mods, they fix one thing and break another, overall I would not say the mods for this game make it more playable.
