The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

Why play RPGs to get stressed out?

After enjoying Witcher EE, Witcher 2 is kind of a letdown, and it comes down to minute number tweaks and crippling controls. Witcher EE delivers based on classic RPGs, its weakness is based on limited tech of the generation, in turn W2 has amazing tech and some of the best art in the genre, but has terrible controls and an overall unbalanced game play. Where it goes wrong is breaking the game flow in favor of challenge, this is fine for those who play this game for that. Challenge is really not the generes focus, exploration, character progression, collecting crafting and enjoying the setting and story is. There are 1000s of better games for challenge, and 1000s of better challenge than games in general. My guess is someone on the team got infected by the Soulshype of the time, and decided to push for a selfish design, only to cater to hardcores. The incosistent difficulty, and the arcade controls with really bad angle connects and delays break this gem sadly, it is a shame the artists are disrespected with such a shoddy gameplay design. Artwork 10/10 Gameplay design: 2/10 Controls: 1/10

Cyberpunk 2077

Game of the decade, hype aside

CP2077 is hardly a single game, it is multiple games packaged into a city sandbox, similar to GTA, but so much more. Depending on how you play, it can be a quick action grinder, a tactical-stealth shooter, or an RPG version of GTA, and probably a lot more still. Story is good and interesting, most characters are decent compared to many other games. The environment design is good, most quests, even the basic events = gigs have many solutions. Music and sound is great, but a little repetitive. Visually, it is amazing, can easily tell this was meant to make the latest GPU tech sweat, but in exchange the image quality is top tier. The actual first person cam action is fairly smooth at 1080 on a n RTX 3050, but the car play is very demanding, because the camera fills up with a massive scene of the city. Game elements, crafting gives an alternative to the RNG loot for those who like to run in the most optimal loot, but it can be fully ignored and still enjoy the higher challenge when running slightly weaker items. Most of the neg. rep. comes from the initial release ( before 1.5 patch) and due to the massive marketing hype. Objectively this is one of the most complex games ever made, and so the bugs are almost impossible to avoid. The negatives I could mention are mainly the static world, but that would make an already busy game world even harder to navigate to be honest. I would still like a generic "talk" to each food vendor tho. Car handling could be still a little better, the horn would be nice if it worked on crowds, as it is hard to get out your car from the streets ( to maintain immersion) Easily worth its full price, 10 times better than most brain-consuming online games, the content and quality beats 99% of the games on the market.
