Wow what can I say but this game brings me back to the days of Doom , Quake , and Blood goodness. Run and Gun and try to stay alive. It also has the secrets and it's Sound Track is very good. If you liked any of the games I listed above you are sure to like this. I also give it two thumbs up for it's own creepiness.
I have both Fallout 1+2 and UnderRail is very similar but hardly as great as most of these reviews would have you believe. There are some major flaws I can't overlook. 1) Venders are picky about what they will buy from you. In a world where everything is needed I find it most annoying because I have to store a ton of stuff till they deside they want to buy it. 2) The difficulty ramps up pretty quickly and without starting another game with the same charactor thats now at a higher level you get your ass handed to you. 3) Its very linear. Now it's not a horrible game but certainly not as good as Fallout 1+2.
This is a great game. Yes it's a bit dated. Yes the controls are a bit clunky but it's still is a blast to play. The clunkiness of the controls gives just the right amount of tension when crap hits the fan. I have spent many many hours with my friends playing this together on line. I would suggest that you play it as a mutiplayer game so you can respawn in town after you die. Makes it a lot easier to get your stuff back. I hope you all enjoy this gem as much as I have.
