Cyberpunk 2077

5 years later, still meh

I originally played this in 2020 after the release for 10 hours, and decided to "put it on the shelf for a year". Well, it has been 5 years, and I the game is not much better. The aesthetics of the city revolve around street food places, a million vending machines and the same 20ish recycled posters. The same black and blue trash bags everywhere. Of all the body mods I see on the streets, some characters have synthetic arms, some twitch on the floor, but none have more than a B cup. Seriously? This is the future M rated game? Tried advancing time, maybe at night time the "Night" city is more alive? Well, no, the janitors come out and it's all the same vending machines and street arcade games. There are maybe at most 10 cars driving around at any given street at any given time. Seriously, I've seen more lively street action in GTA San Andreas 20 years ago, with rival gangs actually doing something in the streets. Even though the devs changed the RPG system from +2.5% crit chance for pistols to something else, I still don't see anything I'm truly excited about in the perk and skill trees. I mean the default story eye mod the game gives you seems to put an orange chevron over any person of interest, so the whole "scanning and hacking" becomes completely mundane. The core gunplay action is quite unimaginative, with enemies instantly knowing where you are (when I tried sniping from a water tower). The one "boss" I found took like 30 headshots, while my first level health regen was healing me. The whole encounter went like - I pop headshots in the boss, while occasionally dodging, the boss shoots a shotgun at me through a door. At the end of the encounter the boss drops a shotgun plus some crafting components. Regular enemies drop damaged weapons that are again recycled into one of 5 tiers of components. That seriously makes me ask - why bother hunting them? For grinding "street cred" that will finally unlock buying cars with machine guns attachments?

Mutant Year Zero: Seed of Evil

Not feelin it

The expansion starts at level 65, and within a couple fights I have enough points to buy all mutations, including new upgrades. After this I'm left facing enemies with 26 to 30 health, and it gets tedious. This game was really made for the less than 15 health range. The math gets too hard to calculate, considering the miss chances and critical hits.
