Yet another GOG title that I never expected to see available. My mom taught me the rules of chess using this exact game in the 1990's on our Gateway 2000. What a trip it is to play it again! And I still suck at it! Objectively speaking - I'm definitely not a skilled chess player, so I cannot comment on the computer's skill/difficulty level other than saying that I'm struggling against it on novice difficulty. The game has features such as move hints, an opening move library, real-time assessment of your game advantage, an undo button, and ELO tracking. It has everything you need to play a game of chess, what else can I say. It's solid.
I first played SimCity 2000 in the 4th grade (1999); it's such a smart game, it was used as an educational tool for us kids to learn basic management and problem-solving skills. Almost 13 years later, and I still find myself sucked into this city-building masterpiece. If you've never played this before, you absolutely must!
