It's good that it sticks to the basics, but the characters and level design are simply too generic. It is technically on par with a lot of great games, but writing, design, and music are too basic too make this game anymore than OK. But it was a solo project, and the developer had to make their hours count, so all in all, good effort.
I don't think it has the replayability of other similar games, and the story is very simple. There isn't a lot of depth too the gameplay, but the game itself feels great until the ending without too much repetition. Games don't need to be complicated to be good after all.
