I found arcanum in the Poundland pc games bin when I was 13. I had a pc and no internet so i didn't know alot about games, all I knew was that I couldn't run many games with the potato pc I had at the time but this game said it would run on my pc and I liked the artwork. So I went home, installed it and hated it. I understood nothing and couldn't hit anything but loved the music and the themes so I persevered and played it over and over and over again developing a live long passion for steampunk. I am desperately hoping for a revival of the series. It seems we may be getting that soon. Fingers crossed but anyway this game is a masterpiece technicaly flawed as many Troika games are but the story the world building and the music.... I dont really like classical music but to this day a shiver runs up my spine when I hear the main screen music. This is a game about a world where magic is in decline and technology is in the ascendancy an industrial revolution and so many shadowy plots it might as well be a communal garden. Don't quite believe ? Just go google some of the random stories in the game or the shadowy conspiracys for it. It is a world that feels real ,not just a what if. There has been thought and feeling put into this game and this should be experianced. Fair warning though, DO NOT PLAY ON REAL TIME MODE! yours L.
