I am going to start this review with a little humorous thing, which we have in my country. When talking about games (really, any kind of media) we like to comment “It has a soul!” about something good and opposite about something bad. “Gone Home” definitely has a soul. And what I mean by this incredible pretentiousness is that you can’t deny that creators put a lot of love and care into this game. So, the gameplay consists of exploration of the house, examination of items and listening to audio journals…. And nothing else. Yes, it is a short experience. Yes, there is not a lot to it. But, what has been be, been done with good quality: the writing is good and the voice acting is pleasant. More on the negative side I will have to admit, that some may find the story predictable, but in defense I’ll say that plot twist does not really matter (this game does not try to mind-screw you – it gives you a story to enjoy and, may be, think about). Ultimately, you got to decide if you want more drama (this game is definitely a drama and NOT a horror). Pretty short, pretty sweet. I’d say give it a bash maybe on sale.
