Played it thoroughly on another platform. Bought it here as well just to support Remedy -- no other developer puts so much <3 into the making of their games! Gameplay is ok, but what really shines is the story & atmosphere -- as expected from Remedy! P.S. i feel a bit guilty buying it discounted, but, honestly, i'm poor...:[
A lovely game, with nice atmosphere, and beatiful art and music (true to the franchise). Maybe a bit short, but not too short if you take the time to explore and search for the collectibles. The only reason I couldn't give it a 5-star is that the ending felt a bit abrupt and not quite satisfying... Loving the game anyway<3
Visual 5/5 amazing artistic style, making exploration rewarding in itself Audio 5/5 great soundtrack, and overall sound Gameplay 3/5 many flaws... forgivable flaws, but really too many to bother listing them Summary: a game which could to had been absolutely extraordinary, but, unfortunately, it is failing in several aspects of gameplay....
Absolutely superb art, and brilliant soundtrack! Sadly, I feel like the gameplay and narration are unpolished, leaving me slightly disappointed. Also, the game feels shorter than it needed to be.... In any case, a memorable experience that was worth my money:]
Many years ago I played Etherlords 2 -- fell in love! Later played the first Etherlords. Clumsier and more frustrating gameplay -- but somehow irresistably addictive.... Couldn't stop until I've beaten the campaign:] Worth my time (and money) re-playing it again, now on GOG. Etherlords IS a Good Old Game. If you have any doubts -- skip it, and go straight for Etherlords 2.
Etherlords was good, but Etherlords 2 is great! Nival's team has preserved the fundaments of the first game, discarding most of its faults, and adding a dose of freshness -- a recipe for a timeless masterpiece. I'm still dreaming of a 3rd chapter.
