The Planet Crafter

Such a Good Game, a bit slow though

I agree strongly with other reviews comparing this to Subnautica. There's a similar element in navigational limitation based on oxygen/range from an established base or vehicle, and so exploring the world can feel pretty similar. I'm at 49.14 mTi right now, so I believe I'm quite early in the game, but I've also been playing pretty non-stop for a few days. So that should give you an idea of how long it takes to hit large milestones in this game. That being said, that time has been packed with plenty of stuff to find and explore and craft and I've been having a great time with it. There's a decent automation element, not belts or anything like Satisfactory but maybe more like an idle game that's running alongside your typical mining, crafting survival game? Your "terraforming" structures run at a constant rate as long as you have sufficient power, and so you're often waiting for them to run while you either build more/better ones or do other stuff. That's kind of the core loop, and it's really satisfying. Game world is quite pretty and at least a bit bigger than it looks, although I haven't found its limits yet. Restoring the climate is very cathartic given the current context we live under so this game is also kind of therapeutic for me personally. Similar to Vita Nova in that way. Strong recommend!
