If hentai yuri like A Kiss For The Petals isn't your thing, Lilycle Rainbow Stage!!! will win you over. Beautiful looking, very chill and cute, generic but engaging story, tropey but still interesting characters, very good voice acting. I mean, it isn't for everyone and there isn't much originality but artwork is so beautiful and I find interface features, that many other VNs doesn't have, characters aren't annoying (which is sadly rare these days) and atmosphere is so chill that I cannot resist to enjoy it. And my girlfriend enjoyed it even more. My only gripe is 720p only resolution, which is like industry standard for VNs even today. C'mon, you aren't Harukoi Otome from 2006.
Let's be frank, original game on PS3 was just awful, with convoluted battle system, subpar graphics and big problems with pacing, plus Idea Factory never really got, how to do good tutorial, and that game really suffered because of that. Re;Birth 1 is big improvement and third best in main line in my eyes, right after Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory and MegaDimension Neptunia VII, it still suffers from odd pacing issues and difficulty spikes but other than that, it's really good spin on franchise and worthy your time, especially if you are fan of Idea Factory's work and JRPG gendre. In my opinion if you want the best deal or just want to get into Hyperdimension Neptunia, Re;Birth 3 is the best way, which has more content and more characters, but Re;Birth 1 is still solid game and I would recommend it before rather disappointing Re;Birth 2 (Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk.2 sucked big one, and when they improved it significantly with Re;Birth 2, it's still the weakest game in main series). As far as port is concerned, you don't need controller because with keyboard and mouse it's fine and playable, but this game was designed around Dualshock, so you are better off with one.
Firstly, this is mobile port. I own it on Android and with Bluetooth controler it's possible but nothing could beat arcade stick. This version isn't horrible, I have some performance issues and game is slow to load and sluggish in menus but I had problems with my AMD graphic drivers before, so I overlook it but be aware if you are rocking older AMD card. Games run without troubles, I don't like new interface but that is personal preference, first and second Double Dragon don't have slowdown as theyr original, arcade versions so that's good, third game is just bad and nothing could save it, my problem is that you can't select infinite continues or insert more coins for more continues, I played a ton of Double Dragon back in a day and I still own The Revenge on Mega Drive but after decades I am little rusty and we all know, how cheap these games are, so why not have this option for more casual gamers? This is also main reason why I play these games more on MAME, which have more options and lets me remap buttons on my joystick as I want. But if you don't want to mess with MAME and just want to try, how grandfather of beat 'em up gendre plays, this collection is worth buying. Personally, I love first Double Dragon, but Double Dragon Advance is definite version of Double Dragon and the best game in series, and Streets of Rage 2 and 3 are definite games in this gendre. Sadly, Double Dragon 4 will not follow arcade but inferior NES versions to appeal US market.
