BATTLETECH

Great tactical game

It's great strategy and tactical game, with lots of options for customizing your mechs, a good feeling of progression, lots of freedom to select your missions, and the campaign is well-written and interesting. It does trigger the same vibes as the Shadowrun games, not surprising since it's the same company, but with an increased focus on tactics and on long-term management of your mech pool. I backed that game on KS initially mostly due to loyalty to Harebrained Schemes since I liked their Shadowrun games, not sure what I was expecting, and I was very positively surprised of the final products. Only real drawback is somewhat long loading times, but that's very frequent in games nowadays, and it definitely doesn't take the fun out of the game.

Torment: Tides of Numenera - Legacy Edition

Awesome world-building and writing

The world-building of that game is truly awesome. The Ninth World is alive, full of delicious weird, without ever becoming silly or ridiculous. The writing is great, so are the backgrounds of the various areas. It really feels like a worthy successor of PsT. The quests and companions are also well-written, interesting and original. As a Kickstarter backer, I'm proud to have been part of making that game possible. It is true that some of the promised content has been cut - and the game would have been even better otherwise, but we should judge a game on what it is, not on what it could have been in a parallel world, and TTON is a true masterpiece, worthy of the Torment name.
