I wanted to play NMS when Hello Games actually delivered all the promises, and after many years, missing one big sale, and grabbing on another, I finally started playing. Initial experience is that game is clearly aimed at console players, so more casual folks, menu is a bit convoluted but finally managed to set it up to my preferences. Game is fun, laidback but a bit tedious early on in a chore way. Planets feel too big for what they have to offer when just starting, and caches or points of interest feels just tad too far away. Sprinting being guarded by short stamina also annoys me. Though, finally starting going interstellar, visiting other systems and talking with NPCs on space stations is an early "reward". Now for the whining. I just don't like what soundtrack and most of the sound design offers. Menu navigations and interface is very PS3. Game is old, but that's dragging the experience down. Mentioned overblown size of planets are distances between systems feels artificial and any realism pretense gets old instantly. Despite that all, for a huge sale, tittle with biggest drama and redemption arc in ages, in current game dev landscape, No Man's Sky is worth it's -60% price.
