No Man's Sky

So much content in one game

They keep expanding this game with new updates, it even just got custom ship building, ships that you can walk around in and have friends go into and travel with you.

CARRION

Experience being a monster

A great 2D game with great graphics and many gory horror details. I played the demo several times and really like the mechanics of this game. With the full game they have made it a bit more challenging in some ways and added even more abilities you can collect and use in interesting horrific ways. I have played through the first 5 or so levels now and so far it does not disappoint.

The Bard's Tale Trilogy

Great remake

Really brings me back to when I played this game on the C64. I remember this game as being really brutal and killing me several times. I figured I was just too young to understand this game, and I was, but seems it was not the main reason I kept dying so much... this game is very brutal. Somehow they have managed to add some 3D graphics to the city you walk around in without making it feel out of place. It keeps feeling like the classic game, with the same controls and same combat. It is probably not for everyone, but its a nice change of pace to try one of these games that were one of the games to lay the foundations for RPG games as we know them today.

Ceville

Good comedy adventure

Ceville was one of the games that helped bring back the point and click adventure genre. Its a really fun game, with lots of dark humor. There is also lots of references to other games and fairy tales and such throughout the game. Like at the beginning of the game where Ceville has to judge whether to punish the wolf or the three piglets, because they are suing each other. I remember this game had problems running a bit slowly after Windows XP. Might have just been Vista that had a problem, but whether it was updated or patched, it runs with no problems in Windows 10 on my computer. This might not be one of the top adventure games of all times, but I would certainly rate it above mediocre. It has a lot in Common with Simon the Sorcerer 4 I would say, and I think I prefer Ceville. With the wave of new adventure games we see now, I could mention many that are not very good compared to this game. I feel it has a nice mix of good puzzles and good humor. If it was a 10 point rating system it would probably get 9 instead of 10, so in this case 4½ instead of 5, but I would say it has earned its 4 stars and then some.

Master of Orion

Awesome game

This sure brings me back. I tried it without the Revenge of Antares first and I really like being playing Master of Orion again. So much technology to research and so many ways to play the game. You can design your own ships and manage the colonies you have in the galaxy. This game just keeps me playing for hours and hours. I also like how you got so many options, like letting a planet "auto-build", although its much better to control it yourself. I also soon found out that at least in the early game, you really have to make sure to remove buildings you do not need anymore. Some complain about the multi-player having DRM. I cannot real see this as a reason to complain though. GoG is not trying to encourage piracy or sharing games with your friends. Many seem to be complaining about this, because they then cannot play with their friends. I can understand how it would be nice if you could just connect with friends over your IP, but multi-player is really not something we can expect to be DRM free in that way. The game has no copy protection, that is the kind of DRM I do not want in my games. Its not even really DRM, it just uses a server to connect players. It sure is nice to be able to conquer the galaxy again. Few changes have been made. For me the "pathways" gives more strategic options in the game. After getting the expansion I also had a battle with the Antarens, two fleets of more than 400 ships going at it. Awesome stuff :)

Simon the Sorcerer 4: Chaos Happens

Simon returns

I liked this game, probably mostly because of the first 2 games being so good. A bit like Goblins 4, I played through that game only two honour the first 3 games and to be able to say I completed the series. But I never completed this game because it runs VERY slowly on most modern OS's. Not sure if it was made for Windows XP or something. But hopefully that has been fixed. I have to say I agree with the other reviews here. None of the characters or anything that happens, at least anything as far as I have played, is much fun. So get this game if you cannot find other adventure games to play that are actually any good. I can recommend Ceville if you want a new adventure game that has some of the same humour as the first two Simon games. I will probably complete this game some day, but I refuse to do it while it takes minutes just to walk through each screen as it did last time I played.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number

More Hotline Miami :)

It seems much the same as Hotline Miami which is certainly a great game. I would probably rate the first one 5 stars. This sequel is easily 4 stars, and I understand why others have given it 5 stars as well. Some says its a bad thing you have to use guns so much in this game, but as I see it, in the first one you rarely had to use guns at all. So which of the games is it that has a problem? Seems to be a better game design that you have to use all the weapons available, and Hotline Miami 2 certainly does that. There are even enemies that will dodge bullets, so you have to use melee weapons against them, and like in Hotline Miami, there are enemies that can only be killed with guns. I guess the only reason I rate it 1 star less than the first game is because its very hard. So much you get frustrated in quite a few levels. I think I got frustrated in at least 5 levels. But there are 25 levels I think it is, so its not a biggie. And there are plenty levels where you get to use melee weapons. You even get to use a freaking chainsaw in some of the levels :D So if you liked the first game, I can highly recommend this one. I am probably going to play through both games again at some point, since they are so much fun to play. And on the second playthrough you will have more masks and weapons to choose from in both games.
