I'm one of those people who only play adventure point and click games and I loved this. Gorgeous graphics, good music, hints of romance, and really good story behind it. The ending was fitting, I found myself replaying it and thinking through what it meant. The characters are unique and lovely, and you come to like them. One really nice feature is using spells in this game, and the puzzle is you have to figure out which situation to use it, and sometimes also how to use it. There is a lot of text, dialogue that gives you information about the previous game and the world in general, so I felt really immersed in the game. You don't necessarily need to have played the previous one before. I didn't and I didn't mind it. Some of the puzzles make sense, some not really - I don't mind this aspect so much. My only gripe is that it could have just a tad more character development and stronger characterization.
The storyline, and music is all great. The graphics - amazing! Couldn't be any better. The character and world building is also really good. I cared about the main protagonist robot and his girlfriend, and they were all very cute and loveable. Dialog is in pictures with no words at all but this is all very intuitive and understandable - I think this is an amazing feat. High level of detail put into this. The puzzles themselves, were not always obvious, not like gemini rue or the longest journey (which I really like). But this makes for great satisfaction. I'm the sort of person who would play this over several days and slowly work out the puzzle at my own pace, so I was pretty happy to explore all the rooms again and talk and try more combinations. There are also logic puzzles, like a move a bead and things like that, and I actually liked that. I didn't think there were too many and you can always consult the hintbook to get through it (which as other people have pointed out, has a thing to discourage you from using too often). These puzzles aren't unsolvable and are doable with a bit of thinking. I thought it was a good distraction. Overall, I had this feeling of "Someone put in a lot of love into this!" and I consider it one of the best adventure games I've played.
