The game is fun to play and requires more precision and skill on the highest level, which is good. Due to the achievements there is also a lot of variety in the levels, since you have to play them several times to accomplish them all. The only downside is the speedrun achievement, where you have to complete a mission within a certain time. The timer keeps running, even if you reload, which means that if you want to load an earlier savegame and do something else, you'll very likely not make the speedrun anymore, so you have to start all over again from the beginning. Other than that, it's great and I hope for an even better Desperados IV! :)
The game itself is good and is fun to play, but don't expect it to be a new "New Vegas" game. The game is pretty basic (graphics, game mechanics, items, etc.), but it's not bad at all. It provides quite some hours of gameplay and it's also pretty addictive, but it's still too short and it feels like something is missing. With better graphics, more content, locations, story, etc. it would've been awesome. In this form it's just good.
First of all: I did not see any trailers or early demos before playing the game, so I started without any expectations. I started playing with Version 1.04 and played through the whole game without any major issues. It's a great game with lots of fun and I love it. Unfortunately during my second playthough I encountered some bugs which did not exist during the first playthough. I can understand that people who watched the early demos and announcements from many years ago might be disappointed with some of the missing features etc., but that doesn't mean the game was bad, it's really not. Still one of my favourit of all time! I think it all comes down to expectations, if you start with a clean mind, you'll probably love it. If you expect something else, you might not like it so much. I suggest: Give it a try without prejudice and see for yourself. As a little tip: I personally love the parcour possibilities (jumping and running over roofs, pipes, etc.) with the double jump feature. It's so much fun to explore places above the street live! :)
