I was a huge fan of the books this game is based on, so when it came out originally, I snapped it up as fast as I could. The links to the books are really only thematic. Sure, some of the characters are the same (including the delightful Zifnab a.k.a. Fizban and his dragon) and the places/worlds are generally faithful to the books, as is the magic. The joy in this game, though, is in the fun puzzles, good graphics, excellent voices, and moments of real laugh out loud humor. You do *not* need to have read the books at all to play or enjoy. For those of us who did, though, it's a delight to see the worlds created with then-cutting edge technology.

I never review games. Ever. But this one moved me in a way a game never has. It's delightful and interesting and well written. It never feels too hard, but has a nice variation of difficulty with several unusually clever puzzles. If you like classic point and click adventures, buy this at any price.
