Ah, Civ. I've been an avid player since Civ 1 came out back when I was in high school. This game is so much fun, but it makes me so angry. I was just listening to Sid Meier's Memoir! and he talked about the random number generator in Civ and how it was tweaked so that it wouldn't be too maddening to players - well, I dunno if that mission was accomplished. I just lost a ton of grenadiers to a single knight unit, and I'm done for the, erm, night.
I've played all the games in the Master of Orion franchise. This is the one I keep coming back to again and again. MOO established the game stype, MOO2 perfected it, MOO3 overcomplicated it, and the reboot from a few years ago really changed the game too much. Great voice cast, though. This is one of my anti-anxiety games. When I'm feeling stressed or anxious, I boot MOO2 and play a couple of games. Calms me right down every time. Highly recommended.
