Shadow Warrior Classic Complete

OK, but somewhat of a disappointment

I am not saying that this game is bad, but other games are simply better. Both Duke Nukem 3D and Blood have better atmosphere, but unlike them this game is now free, it may worth a try. What I liked: - the soundtrack , but this is really subjective What I did not: - this is an old school fps with keys and switches. On some levels it is really easy to get stuck and this may lead to frustration. Please note: - the wanton destruction expansion is really buggy. If you play on the easiest difficulty, some of the bosses do not spawn (not even the main boss!). - you cannot control the CD audio volume. This is also true for other build engine games on gog (at least at the time I write this review)

Blood: One Unit Whole Blood

Perhaps the best Build Engine based game

Blood is perhaps the best Build Engine based game. It has an excellent atmosphere (note that you might disagree with me if you don't like the horror genre) and while it is a typical 90s FPS the switch and key hunt does not destroy the flow of the action (in contrast with e.g. Redneck Rampage). What I really liked: 1, Excellent atmosphere. 2, Some really creative weapons. What I did not: 1, It is not a real 3D game and on some levels the flying enemies can be really annoying ! 2, The enemies are not really smart but despite this the game can be quite challenging due to the level design. Please note: I could not control the CD audio volume. This is a bug, I have experienced the same in some other build engine games here on gog.
