I just got this via the Summer Sale. I appreciate how detailed it is regarding the crafting mechanics, and the wide variety of junk. I do not care for the controls. The UI and controls were perfected by FNV. The menus used to be easy to navigate, now they feel like a chore. Altogether, it feel so much more "on rails" than FO3 and FNV. This makes me a little sad. DIalogue choices do not mean as much as they used to. Graphically though, the game looks great. It's cool seeing some of the old furniture and items in higher quality. And of course, I'm a sucker for some Dogmeat, so I was very glad to see him. I think I will probably finish this game, and then try some mods.
I love this game nowadays, with patches and anti-crash fixes. It was so notoriously unstable when it released that I'm surprised Bethesda didn't have a legal problem on their hands. I never played the PS3 release, but I have heard tales of trauma akin to PTSD caused by it. That was from the before times though, and this version does run better than that one, but I still patch and anti-crash it. Thank you GOG for keeping this title on your site!
