Scorn

Style over substance

Love the art style and love walking sims, however, I quit about half an hour into the game.. Puzzles, for the sake of puzzles, goddamn puzzles. The game devs had to fill their artwork with playable content and they found the cheapest way of them all. I do not recommend this game, better watch walkthroughs on youtube.

Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones

16GB?

I've seen better looking games 20 years ago running on 64MB RAM. What happened.

One of the best adventures ever made

If you like the atmosphere of INSIDE and LIMBO you will like this one.

Creaks

Repetitive puzzle platformer

Dogs, jellyfish and switches, that's it. I was expecting it to be as fun as machinarium, but this is a pure puzzle platformer and puzzles are not interesting, there's hundreds of these on newgrounds and for free, some of them are ingenious, this on the other hand is low effort gameplay, not worth your money. Sorry, not a fanboy. I leave it with 3 stars for the art which is decent.

A Plague Tale: Innocence

Flawed gem

This game's difficulty lies not in the game's intricacy, but in total disorientation, i.e. you not knowing what to do next and figuring out over and over listening to the same dialogue over and over, the game wants you to restart the checkpoint, it WANTS you to die so that you wouldn't feel as though the game is too short. That's my biggest criticism, that is if it truly was done on purpose. The story is a fantasy with elements of history, it probably does not depict any real chapters in history, rather it is inspired by them, black plague, alchemy, inquisition etc. On the bright side it's interesting and engaging. It is pleasantly immersive but the facial animations are not convincing by today's standards and all type of enemies/soldiers are clones, and as I mentioned the forced difficulty takes away the chunk of immersion.

Disco Elysium - The Final Cut

A game where you investigate existence

Dialogue based RPG with lots of running around. Not La Noire. I wish there was a game combining the elements of both games. Not short, not long, but being an RPG the replayability factor shifts it towards long. Suggestion: change screen to grayscale when playing the bad cop for extra noire experience, embrace the decadence and darkness... The experience will stay with you for a long time. 5/5 get it now p.s. runs just fine on HD620

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura

The violin is etched into my brain

Say what you will but you will never forget your time in Arcanum. Indescribable charm, magic vs pistols or hand grenades what? Orcs on the assembly line? Flamethrowers? It was far more fun to play as a techie as the list of things you could craft was ambitious, want a robot follower? You got it! How about a flamethrower? Sure just bring enough fuel. What if you can make your armor heal you? Why not! The list goes on and on. But being a cool mage was possible too. Oh who am I kidding, I cannot give justice to this game, you have to play and see for yourself, but... you have to love isometric games, I understand that graphics can greatly enhance the immersion into your character i.e. Bioshock, but then it is a thinking man's type of immersive story driven game, reflexes play a minor role in here.

Mafia Classic

Most cinematic game ever made?

Ah yes The City of Lost Heaven. How hooked I was to this game, nothing would ever compare to it, it was like playing in a Scorcese movie, playing as a naive taxi driver who's life has changed overnight and now working his way up as a mobster, he's not very ambitious and has a soft spot for women, sorry I meant dames... but I said too much already! You will love Tommy. This was the times of GTA3 and Max Payne but Mafia took the best from both, here you have the tight cinematic writing from Max Payne and the immersive city hustle and bustle of GTA3 which was heralded as something special until Mafia came out and made it look like an arcade game. Every mission is memorable and will stay with you for a long time. Two decades have passed since I played it first time and it feels like yesterday. Cruisng on a beautiful car through the Hoboken on a chilly morning in Autumn, listening to some fine jazz on the radio, the stool pigeon has to die.

The Long Dark

Bugged

Once I realized you can't continue curing pelts from episode 1 I immediately quit and uninstalled the game. Basically I spent extra time and food waiting for the pelts to cure so that I could wear them LOGIC! The game does not hold your hand but also deceives you. I went to a random forum and was told pelts are useless at this time. So I just quit, the game lacks logic in its mechanics and is bugged, like the rabbit bug when you have an extra stone and the game does not know what you want to do hit the dead rabbit again or break his neck so you end up staring at your feet until you restart the game. Also if you see a wolf just save load chances are the wolf will be gone. The game is kind of blocky/cartoony but lags on minimal settings. unity is just not a good game engine. game that are 10 years old looks as good but can run you guessed pretty much on anything. The games does get repetitive after a while, avoid wolves, find food, fix clothes, micromanaging galore, and the story is kind of melodramatic.

STAR WARS™ Knights of the Old Republic™ II: The Sith Lords™

Buggy, crashes,

Crashes on my 2018 laptop Windows 10 with integrated intel gpu. I know the game is good so I give it no less than 4 stars so not to mislead the newcomers, but be aware it might not run on your setup.
