- I am of the opinion this is as close to what the original hype for Cyperpunk 2077 was meant to be, and I applaud CDPR for taking the time to get the game in this state (no; this does not excuse what happened back in 2020). - But this is one of the richests, immersive, compelling gameworlds I have sank time into. Frankly speaking, the story is worth the ticket. - For the open world (and this is a complement): The game is on par with GTA IV now. The sandbox is very fun, and you can do a lot of chaos. If you have the appropriate hardware, it is a stunningly good game to look at as well. I don't think this is a stellar game just yet, but it is a good one. 8/10 (I await to see if the extra area the expansion adds can add .5 to it). Reviewed on AMD 5600X with RTX 3060 12 GB 1GB NVME GEN 4 (1080p Ray Tracing Low; FPS locked to 72 and little variation)
5/5 just for Cultists. BLOOD is the Best Build engine game ever made, and frankly of the 2.5D era shooters it is the best one ever made.
Think if DOOM classic got a remake with the 90's sensibilities built-in. This is a very good shooter. The guns (Best pistol in any game to date) have amazing feedback, and the damage they deal on the enemies is brutal. Level Design varies from good to great, although I haven't dabbled in what seems to be a amazing level editor. Music is good, although the ambient and impact tracks for the opening levels get a bit monotonous after a while. My main critique is the enemies themselves. They are clear imitations of their Vanilla DOOM counter parts, but they dont look unique or striking in anyway. I hope this gets updated before the game goes live. This is the Boomer Shooter of choice for me at the moment. Worth the asking price, highly recommended to anyone who is a fan of DOOM.
