Skylar & Plux: Adventure On Clover Island

Short and sweet

Well, the game it self is shorter than A hat in Time (and that was short too) but looks and feels better than Yooka Laylee. Sorry to compare games but we have such a few platformers these days and I can only give how I feel with comparisons. The controls are great and responsive the combat is odd in the beginning because the enemies tend to start attacking you way before you get in sight making you falling down to death if they are on a platform or above you. but later on when you get more tools you will have more fun ways to destroy your enemies. All in all it's a short (as in really short: you can finish it in an afternoon with breaks) but sweet platoformer.

Shoot 'em all!

I can't remember the last time I had this much fun with an FPS game, oh yeah it was half-a year ago replaying Painkiller, guess I'm a sucker for mindless shoot 'em ups. You just get in, grab your shotgun and eradicate hordes of enemies while some moody music blasts trough the speakers. Speaking of music, it's magnificent, perfectly fits the atmosphere on each world. The gunplay is extremely satisfying, you can go with almost every wapon and be effective. I was first worried how roguelite can fit in the game and it turned out pretty well, on normal difficulty you get plenty of lives and medkits so there are lot of room to recover from a mistake, not unfogiving at all, thank god. I was going to give this 4/5 because the game was way too dark even with turned up brightness but the new patch fixed, everything is crytal clear now. All in all it is a surprisingly great shooter with great gunplay and a nice soundtrack.

Comfy citybuilding

I always wanted a city building game where all you have to do is build and manage. No armies to fight, no lands to defend, no nations to argue with... just sit back, build farms and houses. You biggest enemy in this game is starvation. The game graphics are okay (although I would prefer a more cartoon style artwork) and there are bunch of mods out there of you want to change something or add to the game. The UI however is basic and lacks style. Other than that this is the comfiest city building game out there.

Prince of Persia

An unique experience

I picked this PoP episode 'cuz I thought it will be the same hack-and-slash platformer as the former episodes ( Warrior Within for eg. ) and because I loved the graphics. Colorful, vast and brings that eastern-stlye. Well I was right but only partially. If you expect the same fast-paced fight and finger numbing jumps you will be very disappointed. The jumps and fights become too easy when you get use to it. It's like pressing the button which lights up on Simon-says. On the contrary the game looks nice the puzzles are okay and the characters are lovable. It has its own flaws and nice things. If you have time and you like an easy-going somewhat artistic game you can pick this.
