This game captures very well the Mad Max world atmosphere. For an open world game the vast deserts can feel a little bit barren and underpopulated but it fits the setting. The vehicle and on foot fighting are well balanced and both satisfying. Upgrading and driving your car feels great; I just unlocked the V8 engine and the sound conveys a great sense of power. The dust storms and the lightning storms are incredible. If you walk and especially if you drive through them you feel completely absorbed, astonished, endangered, immersed. I've hardly seen more beautiful looks in an unscripted and non cinematic event in a videogame. The story is not incredibly engaging or intriguing but still followable. It's definitely worth buying and playing even after so many years after publishing.
This game is really well conceived and realized. The art if beautiful. The way the alchemist concept is translated into game mechanics is creative, clever and fits perfectly. Everything is reasonable within the context: ingredients names, art, colors and effects; effects placement on the map; customers behavior. You feel enticed and rewarded for exploring the alchemy map, organizing your recipes book, creating new and difficult potions, and much more. The game doesn't feel completely finished: -you can't save some complex recipes for example, being compelled to prepare many times feels redundant. -the magic garden is too flat and not much interactive -there's a shop upgrade page but you can't actually upgrade your gear -it feels like there should be at least one more base fluid (and map in consequence) I really hope the developers polish and add a few things to make this even better.
