Whoah... this game just blew me away. As some other have stated, this game is almost a physical experience, with the combination of aesthetics, graphics and music combining to make you jump when you get killed by that guy you didn't see in the corner... You WILL get killed often and violently, yet you will probably come back for more... Violent, so not for the faint of heart. If you're a gamer, this is recommended.

Ok, what is happening here? The upper left quarter of the screen is constantly being filled with some kind og huge silhouette of the character, which is odd to say the least, this makes the game unplayable so far. Will try it on another setup, but I don't see why this does what it does, the weirdest bug I've seen in a game. So far very unsatisfied with this.
Have this game in original dvd rom format As stated, very original as an FPS, which might sound ironic since FPS are so popular. This one is really good and its design allow it to age gracefully, the gameplay is tight. It,s a good length also Recommended.

Ok, I'm probably at the last "boss", and thruthfully, this game has mostly been a chore that I want to complete for the last few hours of gameplay, not a good sign if you ask me...... Long, LOOOONGGGG cutscenes, auto-heal, long reloading firearms without a melee attack... and finally, a minute long soliloquy that I can't skip before my last fight in which I last sometimes 20 seconds because you don't see nothing since it's in obscurity... I have half a mind to uninstall this even though I haven't finished it... sadly, I can't say I had much fun with this.

Ok, this is one of the few games that I got completely lost in. In a good way though. I played it without mods upon original release, with a couple patches. I got it on GOG trough the redeeming program. This game makes no compromises, you will die. You will learn and die again, and again, and again. After a point, there is genuine satisfaction in surviving the quests and the firefights. When you develop enough experience and get good enough equipment, there is a feeling of accomplishment, you have to deserve it. The environment are huge, beautiful even today, and especially immersive. The enemies are very well trained and won't be easily dispatched, most of them anyway. Nothing in this game is perfect, but it all falls into place perfectly...

A classic, sandbox precursor kind of game. The diversity in gameplay is a big pluds for this game, as it blends strategy and action very well, it even has some "stealth" sequences, so a lot of variety. I played this on 3 different systems dating back 20 years, and I liked every versions. This game cannot be finished though I think, well, at least I never finished it, even after finding numerous relatives and a couple treasures. Your character evolves as the game goes on, you get slower in combat especially, which is a major factor that forces you to adapt. A game that every gamer should try at least once.

I had a lot of fun playing this. The main character is kinda endearing, the attempts at humour are tolerable. The storyline is wacky, but really fun. The combat system worked for me, kind of Hack & Slash mixed with RPG, and some of the mid-game fights and bosses were a good challenge, even with your NPC allies. The story will remain the same, but there is replayability there, as there are many options on how to fight. I chose to be mainly archer and one handed weapons fighter, which worked very well. The old games didn't work on my system, they ran way too fast. was always in a fight every 3 seconds. Try this one out when on sale, you shouldn't regret it.

Good game, but as stated, even at release, the gameplay was outdated, in particular the lack of strafing and moving at the same time was unforgiveable. It's fun, the stages and enemies are different from the previous game, some stages are really short. The game overall is quite shorter than the first. The behavior of the enemies is like the first game. I got the feeling that this game was kind put out half-heartedly, knowing that compoeting with doom would be impossible. Good game if you can look over its shortcoming and worth it for the historic value too.

Ok, that game is good, it has some good ideas that were not widespread at the time, like interaction with the NPC's and the environment. The graphics are not bad, but the main thing is the gameplay, the damage and the aiming. If you are to enjoy this game, you will have to cope with a LOT OF RANDOMNESS! And I mean A LOT. By that I mean that a lot of things seems to be highly unpredictable. Movement for one. But the most egregious is the variability in the number of shots needed to destroy opponents. Sometimes you will kill a guard with a single shot of the base pistol at a long range, other times you will be spraying the same guard with an automatic weapons at close range for 5-6 rounds before it's down. Highly annoying. Same thing goes for the turrets for example, sometimes you need a single rifle bullet, other times you spend 7-8 bullets before it's destroyed, at similar angles and ranges. Which brings us to the next topic, probably the most annoying to me. Medium difficulty is very easy, but at the higher difficulty levels, THAT FRIGGING GAME DOESN'T GIVE YOU ENOUGH AMMO!!!!!!! LIKE EVER! You will always be facing 4-5 tougher ennemies and you will have around 10 bullets in your machine gun before it's empty. Combined with the aforementioned variability in the ammo needed for a kill, and you can see the problem. That combination made me quit the game in frustration many times. I'm more than halfway through and I plan on finishing the game, but mostly so I can say I finished it, it is not that enjoyable. As I said, mostly for nostalgia and very tolerant players...
