This one has a lot of personality. Quirky characters, engaging storyline, and lots of action, Shogo really stands out. It is obviously anime inspired, and I think that turned out to be a great decision (albeit not a popular one, if I recall correctly, sales wise). One of my favorite shooters, absolutely, even if it is very short.
It is a blast to play, and the AI was great for its time if you didn't have friends nearby. Still an outstanding package across the board, and the level diversity is most impressive. Definitely one of the best shooters ever.
This ain't your Quake. It's a deliberately slower paced game that still looks impressive, but the weapons are fairly boring and weak and the story is pretty stupid. That said...the first two levels are great fun and the music is fantastic. Overall a polished shooter without a ton of personality.
