I finished the early release and overall the game was really good. I have recently also completed BG3 and this game held my attention just as well. There were a couple of glitches though- sometimes you can get messed up saves- so dont rely on just quicksave or autosave but every so often do a manual save. The other glitches which the developers know about such as a couple quest triggers malfunctioning are being addressed and will be fixed in main release. This game is more like Divine Divinity in my opinion. The start was a a tad awkward acting wise- but once you get rolling the story held my attention and I found myself wanting to continue. For me most games dont hold my attention unless they are really good. My favorite part of this game was the Necromancer's tower- and the fact that many monsters can be negotiated with- even undead! This was a nice change. I get bored with mindless combat, I want monsters that have purposes of their own and are smart enough to make a deal to get what they want. Best combat was the Brood of Blood battles. I am eagerly awaiting the full release now.
