Legacy of Kain™ Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered

Too much nostalgia colors my bias

This is truely a beautiful and faithful remaster. SR1 & 2 are a class act in the writing and performance and now with a fresh and vibrant coat of paint. You'll be on the edge of your seat trying to uncover the plot masterfully laid out for you. However... The new camera controls are a great improvement, but leave a lot to be desired. Auto movement kept from original game causes jittering with every slope change from the geometry beneath your feet. It's annoying at best, and somewhat nauseating at it's worst. Any time a game gives me the option to play via controller, I take it. The custom button mapping is a godsend considering the archaic original layout. It's still lackluster to my standards (like most console born games) Keyboard binding is A+, yet controller binding is C-, an industry standard that makes me want to claw my eyes out every time. SR2 on the PS2 (how I originally played this title) was extremely fickle and was subject to freezing, skipping and even looping cutscenes. Seems like most of these issues have been remedied in this remaster. Though there are some strange glitches I've never seen before killing my playthrough of the sequel. (avoiding spoilers) Theres a specific wall you can touch that breaks the game entirely... please fix :(
