An awful lot of effort went into this and i have had the pleasure of revisiting this world over the years. it is so well made , much better than other full price games and this was given away for nothing. Well worth playing and the soundtrack is fantastic.
I have to say that this was my first point and click "ghost"adventure that i have ever played but i'd heard good things and saw some videos on youtube. I will first say and please skip if you don't like spoilers but it actually has nothing to do with ghosts nor does have many jump out of your skin moments although the ones that are there are truly terrifying. No, for me what i loved was how it captured the feeling of the old MR James stories or 1970s made for Tv ghost stories. The atmosphere is so thick and palpable it makes the tension almost unbearable but compelling at the same time. The graphics are also fantastically atmospheric. This is a very linear game - no Deus Ex here but that hardly matters. I would recommend playing in the dark on a cold, wet day as there are few shocks to make you jump out of your skin when playing the dark but my God when they come they come ! Please do get this game. i loved it
