Against the Storm

Addictive city builder

This is a city builder game with high replayability. The design is a great mix of wholesome and dark. The base design is apocalyptic. The campaign is cyclic, all your progress will be wiped away by the storm in the end. Each game is a race against the hostility of the forest. But you really care about the happyness of your citizen, it's one of the win conditions. But you are not in this alone - trade with other settlements and visiting traders is important to help you make up for gaps in your production chains. And there's no fighting. The core gameplay loops are very solid. And there are quite a few of them, interacting with each other. Each game brings quite some variation. You only have 3 species each time, with different needs and strengths. And you draft your tech tree each game anew, with a limited number of slots. And having your citizens bustle around the map really hits this "The Settlers" vibe. So if you like city builders or production chain games, give this one a try. You won't be dissapointed.
