Nocturnal: Enhanced Edition

A rough gem

I started enjoying simpler games and this is just right. The gameplay is simple to understand but I felt like in crowded areas the controls were not very smooth. Don't get me wrong, the game is fun but I hope that their next game will have better responses with the movement and attacking. The story is basic and linear, nothing much. The tidbits you find don't offer much, since it's also said as legends and stories so it's hard to grasp the entire thing without doing a couple of runs. Characters do not get fleshed out so nothing to care about there. Would love for more lore about this universe in a sequel maybe and I would like to know more about the main character and some misterious NPC's that don't get much screentime. I see potential in this and hope it will develop in more games.

RUNES Magica

Fun but flawed

Pro: Fun little game Not overy complicated Con: The game itself is interesting but the lack of a checkpoint system when you finish an area is kind of annoying. Even when you quit or go to the main menu the progress resets to the first area I don't have the time to redo 30 min of a game to get back to where I died in another area. if it had that area checkpoint I would've given it a 5 with all it's other flaws.

Drova - Forsaken Kin

Hits all the right nostaligia places

For the old dudes and dudetes this game hits all the right spots. Pretty sure everyone is thinking of the same game that inspired this incredible game. A worthy successor and hopefully an expanding universe. Do not let the map fool you, it's quite big and full of secrets, some must be carefully sought, others are in plain view. The story is beautifull and while it does not have voice actors you can still feel the emotion through the small 2d movements and lines. I genuinely felt sad when someone died and happy when I helped certain little oinkers. Like any worthy successor it's the first playthrough that is difficult, after you find the kinks the second one is way easier when you know where to find the good stuff. ( *cough*magic for the win*cough*)

Daymare: 1998

It just doesn't tingle right

We all know this is Resident Evil 1 inspired, almost to a T in terms of locations and atmosphere, but it just doesn't work as well. Sure I had a bit of fun but most of the time I got annoyed with random spawns because why not. I do get that there are supposed to be surprises, but come on, you don't have to make them after evey key item you get. And let's not forget the most annoying thing you guys could've done, the Greek puzzle. That was the most annoying and frustrating thing to do. How many people who speak english know freakin Greek, like come on, that was simply a very poorly thought puzzle. At least put a damn paper with each letter how it's translated to latin alphabet. Overall it is a bit of fun, with accent on A BIT, and forgettable distraction.
