Baldur's Gate 3

Very good game... for solo playing

Life long D&D player (mostly 2nd and 3.5, played some 5th but not my favourite), played all the Infinity Engine classics back in the day, played all Divinity from Divine to Original Sin 2. In a word, I should love this game. And playing solo is very good. Maybe not as good as Original Sin 2, but a huge, fun, beautiful game which transports you to prolly the most faithful Forgottean Realms settings ever in a game. Acting is good, lets you enjoy 5th edition rules more or less by the book and has the Larian touch everywhere. But unlike their last two games, which absolutely LOVED playing with my friends (we don't have the time to play tabletop anymore), this is a multiplayer mess, that becomes worse with every patch. I can't describe it any other way than they fix one thing and break two. We are struggling to beat it (already deep in Act 3, so we are pushing towards the end) because bugs are everywhere, blatant ones, as if we were still in early patches or even late early access. Sometimes mechanics will break, sometimes NPCs will react mindlessly to anything, sometimes glitches galore or/and graphics won't load properly to any extent. Sometimes the session won't start or quick saves will vanish. Larian already said they're fixing it (don't know the day they will consider it fixed), and then will walk out. Can't even say I'm sad because we're not getting a DLC, after our experience. Long story short: one of the best CRPG you'll ever find to play by yourself. Hard pass if you wanna play with others.
