Imagine you are in the 90'2, you had grat games but you still need something more.. Then cames Wing Commander, a mix between space simulator and shooter but but something no one has until that day: eal cinematic scenes. You can talk with people, you see people, you had your mission reviews like you watch a movie... Add to this that all the cast are 100% well know actors. The history is great and makes you keep playing over and over again. WC is one of my favorite games ever and even 20 years are past I still in love with the franchise.
So many years ago, a friend show me a new game, a starship simulator that had more than the tipical eneme to shoot out. A great history, great characters, and a playability never seen. The game was Wing Commander, and since that time, I fell in love with the franchise. I play all the games at his time, even I had the dvd version of WC4.I still had the original games and all this years I pray for that a version that could run on actual computers appears. You make my wish come true and I eternally grateful.
A lot of kids play Gears of War today without knowing that in 1998 Epic created an engine that changes forever the story of videogames: the Unreal Engine. After see Quake I believe I never been able to see any FPS more amazing. I was wrong. I remember watch the first minutes in a computer store where a friend was working. I was in shock! The obscure ambience, the amazing textures, the feeling that every second will be the last .... I remember watch a particular chapter where no enemy appears, it's like a coliseum or something where you walk around watching birds and the water... The weapons of the game are great, obviously we gamers had a crush for DOOM's Bfg but discover that your sidearm could be upgraded was't a thing you culd see in that days. Althrough my favorite FPS is the original Wuake I must admit that Unreal is one of the best. I still had the original game and the expansion, and I purchase this here to play it again. After 13 years Unreal it's one of this games that never loses his magic.
After playing Morrowind hours and hours I think I'll never see a rpg that could surprise me. I was wrong. Gothic 2 is an excellent game with a great history. Every single detail in the game makes you play and you wish why there isn't more games like this. I play Gothic 2 when it was released, played again again many times. I still had the original but also I like the no-drm policy of GOG so I buy this game again and can had Gothic in my PC and neetbook without cd.
