Something similar happend to me with F.E.A.R, please if your considering buying read this first; i didn't mind it not being able to play my base game cause i could play one of the DLC's even tho the base game didn't start for me. I would have even liked to play this game but every time i tried to start it, a message always showed up: Error setting display mode: CreateDevice failed (D3DERR_DRIVERINTERNALERROR). Please delete your Unreal2.ini file if this error prevents you from starting the game. History: UD3DRenderDevice::UnSetRes <- CreateDevice <- UD3DRenderDevice::SetRes <- UWindowsViewport::TryRenderDevice <- UWindowsViewport::OpenWindow <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine Build: Mar 14 2003 13:26:15 I tried to change all i could inside the Unreal2.ini archives and still had these problems, as i have said before please reconsider if your willing to buy this game; Unreal Gold works perfect for me but for some reason Unreal 2 doesn't maybe cause it doesn't run on OpenGL.
I enjoy GOG immensely don't get me wrong, i bought F.E.A.R. Platinum Edition since january, the only reason i haven't posted this comment before is because when downloading this 10 GB file, keeping in mind that i built my own computer from scratch, thus this could be why but from the base game, Extraction Point & Perseus Mandate. The only one that runs at least to get me to the main menu so i can start the game is Perseus Mandate the others do NOT run, it turns into a black screen and waiting wont let me start the main menu; to make things short only ONE of the dlc's work, so view discretion is advised... you are warned, just in case you decide to buy this platinum edition.
