Only playing this for the first time in 2025 and am enjoying every bit of it. You can tweak an .ini file to force a 1440p resolution and use the in-game console to make every change you need to get the mouse behaving itself and adjust the HUD and crosshair aspect to your liking (guides online). No 'modern-day' patches needed. It looks and plays amazingly with just 5 minutes of setup. The soundtrack is a minimalistic assortment with a tendency to melodic bass grooves.. I can't get enough! Visually it holds up remarkably well. Some of the texture work looks decent even by 2025 standards.. and not a hint of TAA blur, motion ghosting or shader compilation stutter to be seen :P I'm only a few levels in but I think I'll liken it to a horde/massive arena shooter spin on Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, which is probably what I was playing instead when this game first came out. Something about the combat and enemy/weapon design tickles that same pickle for me.
