Dustborn

There's Literally No Reason to Play This

It starts with a long dialogue scene, full of cringy dialogue, followed up by yet another one when you reach your destination. I'm not opposed to dialogue and storytelling in games, however you have to present compelling characters and dialogue, whereas this game does neither of those things. This isn't The Longest Journey or Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. This isn't even Dreamfall Chapters, a game that wasn't particularly amazing. This is such a long fall from grace for Ragnar Tornquist. While there is combat, the combat resembles third-person combat from the early 2000's. It's so dated, so stilted, so utterly brain-dead simplistic, that it's difficult to even think of a single positive thing to say about it. As bad as the combat is, though, the other aforementioned narrative elements are somehow worse. So what you're left with is a game that doesn't tell a good story, that has insufferable characters and dialogue, and combat that feels like it was ripped straight out of a Playstation 2 budget game from 2002.
