Gangsters: Organized Crime

Best Gangster sand box ever made

Yes there are a lot of gymnastics you need to do to get the game running, its a 90s game, but you can find recipes in these reviews or elsewhere on the net and it works. Once you get it running tough, just wow! There is a steep learning curve but once you master it, damn there is infinite replayability. Youve got a planning phase were you decide which of your thugs will accomplish which tasks and their success rate will be impacted by their abilities. Once you have booked a full week of tasks, you send them into the sandbox map to accomplish those tasks in real-time. The sandbox map is hard to control I got to admit, its the biggest flaw of the game. Usually I just let my thugs do their thing and follow them around from the bird's eye view, I can sometimes cancel a thugs task if they get into trouble and I want to save him from police or other gangs but otherwise I just let it run. At some point, during gang wars, you can assign bunches of low tier thugs to patrol the streets in your territory and guard your fronts, a lot will die but other gangs too. You always have to keep your high intellectuals on recruiting runs to keep your ranks filled, if you do you will always have enough cannon fodder for these wars and with some well targeted attacks taking out other gang' bosses is acheivable once you know where their HQ are. You juts gotta try to find out for yourself, a remake of this game, fixing the real-time part would become an instant cult classic!
