This game finished the KIlrathi war. First interactive movie with real actors. Well acted and great game design. This is also one of the early games with romance options. This game is amazing for its time.
The strategy layer is pretty easy to deal with, especially if you read the playtesters notes provided. The fighter combat can be good or bad depending on the scenario. Very similar to Wing Commander 2 in playstyle but with fun new ships.
The space sim that launched the best space sim franchise ever. Excellent game, lots of replay value. The game has a built in simulator to get good before you start the main game if you like, or don't and dive headlong in :)
A predecesor to Star Citizen and Freelancer. Excellent game, good story, or you can just run around the sector blowing stuff up for money.
