System Shock® 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster

So far so good

SS2 Veteran here. I'm going to make my final review once I have completed this version of the game. Pretty decent so far. I want to give this game 5 stars. Problem: No quick save nor are there many auto saves. Maybe the Devs thought this as a problem in CO-OP mode, however, it should definately be included in the Single Player mode. Too many deaths and repeated steps over and over again because I forgot to save my game. Albeit, I'm on Impossible Mode. I'll update this review as soon as I've finished the game properly. I might have some additional issues to report to the Developers. When that all is said SS2EE is a proper GOG, no doubt about it.

Sam & Max Hit the Road

Three decades old thingamabob!

First time I've played Sam & Max and I'll say it's quite alright considering it's age. The pixel animation is a bit of a strain for the eyes however. Sometimes It's difficult to see the items that you are suppose to pick up. The items are also quite random. Other than that I don't see any point of not trying it out at least once. Keep a Walkthrough Guide ready and use it only once you get stuck. Enjoy this thingamabob!

Toonstruck

Back to the Toonure!

A must and worth play thanks to Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future) and many more great actors including Tim Curry (The Rocky Horror Picture Show). Not to mention the classic cartoony universe that the developers did good. The game is simple, comedic and has aged nicely considering it's three decades old. If your a cult classic movie fan you owe yourself to play this game at least once. Enjoy!

Nosferatu: Wrath of Malachi

Time-based speed running game

You must find you family before they get killed. The castle is randomized each round. This is not a game with a rich and deep story, it's a simple time-based runner. Albeit good at that.

Clive Barker's Undying

Dark vibes like Shadow Man

If you liked Shadow man (1998) it would be fitting to try this one out. Not the same but similiar dark vibes. Worth a play-through for sure.

XIII

Action-movie-like

Don't listen to the negative reviews. This is a solid and fun game. It has a classic action-movie-like story. Though easily completable it is still fun and definately worth a play through. The story and narration makes it worth it. The cartoonish and comic'ish animation is nice and much different than your usual shooter. This makes the experience into a special and enjoyful one. It even has rogue like elements like crawling and listening/spotting foots steps. Shoot or sneak you decide. All kinds of environments, desert, submarine, snowbase and even a nuclear bunker. All nicely set up. Overall a solid game. Enjoy!

The Suffering

Does not work. Though great potential.

At first it froze in-game. Now while tinkering with the game files with updates the game freezes at start-up. It's an old game and respectively understandable to not work on modern machines.

System Shock

Modern take on System Shock

A good remake on a great story! Despite not being a fan of pixelated art, and pixelated remakes in this case, I did enjoy this remake quite nicely indeed. I believe that System Shock remake is a good starting portal for those who have yet to try out the System Shock series. The lore is really good. Have a good computer that can run the game flawlessly and you will enjoy the experience no doubt. Have a good one!

Silent Hill 4: The Room

My first tread on the Hill

My first time trying out any of the many Silent Hill games. Despite being the forth installment in the series it is still a great introduction to the universe of Silent Hill's psychological horror. The game presented itself to me as a best-seller visual horror novel even being highly interactive. This is a must try if you would like to get some footing on the hills. Truly a masterpiece.
