I was really excited to play it but, It just hangs on the first loading screen. I just let it sit for a good while to be sure. I looked around the net for answers, couldn't find anything that worked lol. This seems to be a widely known problem for a while now but no answers for at least a year it seems. DON'T BE BAITED into buying the Goty version from here expecting it to "Just work." This is Not a "Product" This a mod so neither the dev nor gog has any mandate to fix this. So do it at your ow risk xD
This is just a bad port. Issues: 1) This game says it has controller support, which is technically true but just barely. The d pad can't control the menus, and the menu buttons are mapped to the keyboard. So you have to use esc to back out of menus, and press the enter button on the keyboard sometimes. The first time being on the title screen itself... If you're playing this on a pc handheld like a steam deck this is just gonna be annoying. 2) The 2d sprites are smoothed and so are the textures on the 3d models. looks terrible compared to the ps1 version. unfortunately You might as well just play the ps1 version... I hope they at least update it to properly support controllers. I'm glad there's a legal way to play the game and that it's preserved, but other than that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ meh..
