I came into this game with no expectations and without playing The Witcher 1. I was curious and heard good things about it from a friend. I'm blown away! This game has set the new standard for every western RPG to come. The world of The Witcher is one where there is no clear good or evil. There are only choices and their consequences. Unlike your typical RPG which gives you a black and white choice for every situation, there are times in this game where you are going to have to think about what you would do if you were Geralt. It doesn't always give you time to think it over either as some dialogue exchanges force you to choose within seconds, which is a good thing in my opinion. As for the tech side, this is the most beautiful game I've ever laid eyes on. The world is meticulously detailed and rich with atmosphere. Every area is unique with none of the recycled dungeons crap like in Dragon Age 2. It does come at price however. This is a PC killer. Only relatively new PCs will be able to run this maxed out at a high resolution. You will probably have to tone it down if you have an older PC, but even then it is still a great looking game. If you are on the fence like I was, you should definitely give this game a chance. I have a feeling it will be remembered as one of the best experiences of this generation.
